Activities for families

Spend a wonderful time strengthening your family bonds, have great fun in nature while spending your well-deserved family-holiday here in the Stubaital valley. One thing is guaranteed, this valley is always exciting.

A thrilling experience is ensured with the steepest alpine rollercoaster of the Alps, the summer toboggan track in Mieders. With an altitude difference of 640 metres and a length of 2.8 kilometres, this exciting ride back down into the valley is amazing fun for all family members.

Another exciting activity is climbing up to the tree-tops at the Adventure Park in Tyrol near Fulpmes and taking in the fabulous views from high above. The majestic animals of the birds of prey park in Telfes are a highlight for all animal lovers, and nature enthusiasts always enjoy a hike to the Kid´s Park Klaus Äuele. The Wild Water playground includes a Flying Fox, raft, as well as a balancing- and climbing area for the children to play on while parents can have some time to enjoy this beautiful setting.

The new tree-house-path expands the current hiking and adventure area starting at the mid-station Froneben. The path leads to the Alm Vergör, which is suited perfectly for a quick meal, and takes all hikers past numerous unusual tree-houses, which give insight into the history of the village of Fulpmes. Attention is required of all young hikers along the disc-path in the resort Schlick 2000, because they have to always keep an eye on their wooden disc to prevent it from rolling out of the channel. This is a delightful circuit hiking trail suited perfectly for families with young children.

The Serlespark is situated near the new reservoir lake and is a wonderful adventure and relaxation park suited for all guests of all ages. Enjoy the viewing platform Koppeneck, which offers breath-taking panoramic views, as do the viewing platforms Serlesblick and Karwendelblick, which are also to be found in the local recreation area of the Serles. As the name may already reveal, the panoramic views are of the Serles and Karwendel mountain range.

On hot summer days, there are many exciting alpine lakes and fun swimming pools available for a refreshing dip, as well as fun slides and playgrounds. A round of miniature golf always is a lovely way to spend time together, and the 18-hole course will challenge all competitors.

BIG Family Summer

The BIG Family Stubai Summer-Club offers an exciting entertainment programme for all children aged between 4 and 15 years of age. This fantastic children's club introduces all children to the marvellous fun to be had in nature, and encourages exercise in the fresh alpine air while entertaining with spectacular adventures and exciting games. The children embark on hikes, explore caves, go ride ponies, or venture out with Rudi Rucksack and always have a spectacular day out with their new friends.

BIG Family Winter

It is absolutely no surprise that children turn into ski-superstars while attending the BIG Family Stubai Winter programme. Our holiday region has been voted as the "most family-friendly ski resort of the Alps" numerous times by the German ADAC association. Children can benefit from the highly-experienced ski instructors at the BIG Family ski school and will be able to not only have lots of fun with child-friendly games and methods of teaching, they will also be taught the important techniques of skiing in a fun, playful manner. This ski school has been awarded the "Quality Award", and is renowned as one of the best ski schools in all of Tyrol. Children absolutely love the funny mascot BIG Ron at the ski resort Schlick 2000, and by being introduced to skiing in this delightful environment, nothing stands in the way of great passion for this wonderful sport.

BIG Ron’s Game- and Warm-up Room

All children as from the age of 3 months can enjoy BIG Ron's fun game room and toasty warm area ideal to warm up on cold days. This fun room is situated at the mid-station Froneben at the Schlick 2000 ski resort, allowing parents and grandparents to visit at any time while taking a quick break from skiing, and friendly carers are always available for all our young guests. There is a special sleeping room as well as changing tables to ensure great comforts for all children.
